Fadi Maalouf, M.D.

Dr. Fadi Maalouf is the director of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Program, Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs and Associate Professor within the Department of Psychiatry at the American University of Beirut. Dr. Maalouf completed a residency in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and the Boston Veteran's Administration (VA) Healthcare system and a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts General and McLean Hospitals.   Prior to joining the American University of Beirut, Dr. Maalouf was an Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh and an attending psychiatrist at the Services for Teens at risk (STAR) clinic.  Dr. Maalouf's research interests are cognitive markers of childhood depression, epidemiology of psychiatric disorders in adolescents and interventions that aim at building emotional resiliency in youth.  He is the recipient of several awards and has received intramural and extramural funding to conduct his work.
