He has authored or co-authored more than 400 publications and has been involved in multiple grants as Principal Investigator (PI) or Co-PI. Dr. Birmaher joined the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh as a full-time faculty member in July 1988 to work in mood disorders.
